• Hi, my name is Elissa.

I'm a vocal health educator and presence coach.

My mission in life is to share my authentic self more fully and and more often, and to empower others to do the same.

  • My Projects

    Voice Body Connection

In my coaching practice, I work with professional speakers, performers, and organizations to help people bust through vocal and physical blocks so they can communicate with confidence and ease. Learn more about how to work with me, join my online course "How Your Voice Works," about the anatomy and mechanics of the human voice, or sign up to receive weekly warm up videos as part of my "How To Warm Up" series.

    Fembodiment

I am the founder of a movement that aims to create community by exploring our experiences of embodying femininity through practice, presence, stories, and action. We provide a format women's circles that includes: a movement/voice practice, a potluck, a discussion, and an action item. Attend or learn to facilitate a "Fembodiment Scrum" in your corner of the world, or join us at one of our events open to all genders.

    Vibrant Voice Technique

I am the Founding Official Instructor of Vibrant Voice Technique, a revolutionary method that improves your voice through vibration (yes, that means a vibrator!). Learn to enhance your resonance and reduce the muscle tension that can lead to vocal fatigue through a series of exercises using a small hand-held device. In partnership with David Ley, founder of Vibrant Voice, we've created a video series that explains the technique.

  • About Elissa

Elissa Weinzimmer is an acclaimed vocal health educator and presence coach, and the founder of Voice Body Connection. After an episode of vocal trauma left her silent for a month in 2007, Elissa was compelled to become a voice coach. Her work empowers speakers and performers to share their authentic voices more fully, more often.

Elissa’s unique approach is to help her clients develop a clear understanding of how their voices function, so they can communicate with more confidence and ease. She uses this approach when teaching workshops and working with individuals, and also in her online course How Your Voice Works as well as her women's circle movement Fembodiment.

Elissa’s clients include Broadway stars, major television personalities, politicians, and CEOs. She has led workshops for Microsoft, Hillary for America, Columbia University, The Voice Foundation, the Body-Mind Centering Association, and the Skirball Cultural Center. Elissa is also a presence expert for Femgineer, the resident presentation coach for Onlea Online Courses, a faculty member at New York Film Academy and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and the Master Voice Teacher at Anthony Meindl’s Actors Workshop New York.

Elissa holds an MFA in Theatre Voice Pedagogy from the University of Alberta and a BA from the University of Southern California. She is the Founding Official Instructor and Head of Instructor Training of Vibrant Voice Technique, and is certified in Fitzmaurice Voicework® and Hatha yoga. In 2014, Elissa was the recipient of the Clyde Vinson Award for Excellence from the Voice and Speech Trainers Association.
